- Wooden doors are to be stacked flat on a 100% level surface in a dry well ventilated area not exposed to sun or heat from sheds or containers, to avoid warping caused by change in temperature and humidity.
- Wooden doors are to be treated preferably with the following products: Woodoc or Silkwood on all six sides. Doors must be sealed at all exposed surfaces caused by installation the same day of installation.
- All wooden doors supplied by Fair Deal Wooden Windows are only temporarily treated, and it is preferred that the doors be treated on the same day that delivery takes place.
- Warping from and up to 6mm on the concave face of the door when measured with a straight edge, will not be considered as defective and will not be replaced by the manufacturer.
- Doors will not be exchanged if the above mentioned procedures have not been complied with.
- Do not order doors for installment until concrete floors and plaster walls are finished and completely dry.
- Always handle doors with care to avoid scratching and other damage.
- The swelling or shrinking of doors is a natural occurrence in timber and not a fault in the construction of the door.
- Do not trim more than 30mm from the height of the door. Trim up to 10mm from the top of the door and up to 20mm from the bottom. Doors with 190mm kick rail may have up to 30mm trimmed from the bottom. Do not trim more than 10mm in width, reduced equally from both sides.
